Temasek acquires 7% stake in eMobile of Japan

Singapore’s state investment arm Temasek Holdings has acquired a 7% stake in Japanese mobile broadband service provider eMobile for JPY12 billion (USD107 million), making it the third largest investor in the company after eAccess and Goldman Sachs. The investment was made as part of the latest phase of eMobile’s equity financing which raised capital of JPY27.3 billion. Commenting on the deal, Temasek’s managing director for investments Grant Ferguson said: ‘eMobile is a commercially attractive investment with good growth potential and an experienced management team. This is our largest investment in Japan to date.’
