MTC-Vodafone Bahrain has launched the Middle East’s first commercial high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) service for mobile handset and datacard users. The 3.5G service increases MTC’s maximum mobile data speeds to 1.8Mbps, five times that of its existing 3G network. The service has been launched in the Seef district and the company plans to extend coverage throughout the Kingdom by the end of July.
