Ministry: no plans to reallocate Softbank’s mobile licence

18 May 2006

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said yesterday that it has no immediate plans to launch a tender for Softbank Corp’s mobile licence. The Ministry said that it had set out a plan to license a ‘maximum’ of two new operators, and therefore there is no problem with just one newcomer.
