CamTel launches wireless network

Cameroon Mobile Telecommunications (CMT), the start-up wireless arm of fixed line incumbent CamTel, has officially been established and will soon launch as the third player in the market, writes AllAfrica. CMT was created with operating capital of CFA600 million; according to the General Manager of CamTel, David Nkoto Emane, the wireless network is set to go operational ‘almost immediately’. CMT will compete with Orange Cameroun and MTN.
