International call rates to fall 20%

International call tariffs will be cut by 20% from 1 June 2006, under a proposal made by the VNPT and approved by the Ministry of Posts and Telematics. Tariffs for international direct dialling (IDD) from fixed telephones will be reduced to between USD0.44 and USD0.68 per minute, from the current level of USD0.55-USD0.64. International voice over internet protocol (VoIP) calls using the ‘171’ service centre will be reduced from USD0.50 to USD0.40-USD0.51 per minute.
