Digiweb to provide business users with fibre links

11 May 2006

Irish residential and business broadband internet provider Digiweb has struck a EUR2 million-plus deal (USD2.55 million) with E-net, a firm which manages metropolitan area networks (MANs) around Ireland, enabling it to offer connectivity to high-end corporate users. According to SiliconRepublic.com, Digiweb will now be able to provide direct links over fibre-optic connections on a nationwide basis. It will also be able to offer full physical resilience to the MANs via wireless technologies, a facility it claims that its rivals do not currently offer.
