Sales up at TI

Telecom Italia has reported a 6.5% increase in revenues for the first quarter, with growth fuelled by strong performances in its European broadband operations and at its Brazilian mobile subsidiary. Revenues for the three months to the end of March reached EUR7.48 billion, with EBITDA up 0.3% to EUR3.3 billion. TIM Brasil saw a 44% year-on-year increase in subscriber numbers to more than 21 million. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia now has 7.6 million broadband internet customers across Europe, including 6.1 million in its domestic market.
