You WiLL you WiLL you WiLL: three operators to return local loop licences

9 May 2006

Venezuelan telecoms regulator Conatel has revoked wireless in the local loop (WiLL) licences belonging to Movistar, Entel and Génesis Telecom for failure to effectively use their wireless spectrum allocations. The watchdog ruled that all three operators had not complied with the conditions of their contracts since being awarded the spectrum in 2001. Conatel is expected to launch a new tender for the spectrum, although no official plan has been released.
