Bolivian mobile, public telephony and long-distance operator NuevaTel will invest USD15 million in its network and services this year, according to BNamericas citing local daily El Deber. Much of the money will be used to expand the coverage of its mobile network, marketed under the brand name VivaGSM. NuevaTel plans to focus its expansion on the La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz regions, as well as border towns such as Puerto Suárez. Last year the operator invested USD11 million to extend GSM services to 17 new localities in Santa Cruz.
