Goldman Sachs ups DiGi stake

Malaysian holding company DiGi.Com, the parent of DiGi Telecommunications, has informed the stock exchange that Goldman Sachs International has increased its stake in the company by buying up 0.27% equity on the open market, taking its total holding in DiGi.Com to 5.64%.

Goldman Sachs emerged as a substantial shareholder in the company after buying a total of 40.08 million shares in three separate deals in early April, equivalent to an equity stake of 5.34%. The company said Goldman Sachs bought 37.8 million shares or 5.04% from the open market on 6 April, a further 1.5 million on 7 April and 775,100 on 10 April. Telenor of Norway is DiGi.Com’s largest shareholder with a 61% stake.
