M1 launches mobile TV channel

MobileOne (M1) of Singapore has launched a mobile TV channel which allows its 3G users to watch local TV broadcasting on their mobile phones. The TV programmes, broadcast in Mandarin or English, reportedly include drama serials and talk shows, and are edited into ‘bite-sized’ content to dovetail with typical handset features. In November 2005 Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) launched its own 3G TV service via a video access portal, while StarHub has introduced an i-mode mobile internet service which includes access to TV news websites.
