Malaysian holding company DiGi.Com, the parent of DiGi Telecommunications, has informed the stock exchange that Goldman Sachs International has emerged as a substantial shareholder in the company after buying a total of 40.08 million shares in three separate deals in early April, equivalent to an equity stake of 5.34%. The company said Goldman Sachs bought 37.8 million shares or 5.04% from the open market on 6 April, a further 1.5 million on 7 April and 775,100 on 10 April. Telenor of Norway is DiGi.Com’s largest shareholder with a 61% stake.
