19 Apr 2006

Mexican telecoms regulator Cofetel has passed a resolution mandating that domestic long-distance (DLD) calls to mobile phones be subject to calling party pays (CPP) rules, according to BNamericas quoting newspaper El Financiero. CPP already applies to local fixed-to-mobile calls and operators Telcel, Telefónica Móviles, Iusacell and Unefon have until October to implement DLD CPP.
