11 Apr 2006

Two of Brazil’s largest telecoms operators Telemar and Brasil Telecom are holding talks with pay-TV broadcaster Sky, according to reports from local publication TI Inside, quoting Sky Brasil president Ricardo Miranda. Telemar and Brasil Telecom both offer triple-play services as a key part of their commercial strategies and are talking with Sky about future partnerships, according to Miranda. The negotiations come in the wake of a recent announcement from another Brazilian telco, Telefónica Brazil, that it has signed a deal with Sky to launch a series of promotions for users of its Speedy broadband service. Telefónica is leveraging its partnership with Sky to offer the latter’s services in São Paulo.
