Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) yesterday confirmed it was cutting staff at its Singapore operations, just a fortnight after it announced it was shedding 200 jobs at its Australian unit Optus. ‘This exercise is part of an ongoing organisational renewal process, a SingTel spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires. Although the total number of job losses has not been divulged, it is understood that the telco is looking to cut back on job duplication among its almost 10,000 staff in Singapore.
