Motorola deploys PCMM solution for StarHub

11 Apr 2006

US equipment manufacturer Motorola has announced the world’s first commercial deployment of its end-to-end PacketCable MultiMedia (PCMM) solution by StarHub of Singapore. The implementation of the PCMM solution will enable the operator to utilise improved Quality of Service (QoS) for the rollout of advanced, revenue-generating IP services. The vendor is overseeing and managing the installation which includes its Broadband Services Router 64000 (BSR 64000) and system integration services, as well as Camiant’s policy server, Sandvine’s PCMM application manager, and Incognito’s and Interactive Enterprise’s provisioning software.

StarHub is Singapore’s second largest telecommunications company, delivering a full range of information, communications and entertainment services over fixed, cable, mobile and internet platforms. It operates a 3G mobile network in addition to its GSM network, and is the exclusive provider of i-mode mobile internet services over its 2.5G and 3G networks. StarHub also operates its own nationwide HFC network delivering multi-channel CATV services (including digital cable), voice and internet access for both consumer and corporate markets.
