Sonofon awards Nokia W-CDMA deal

Danish wireless operator Sonofon has announced that it has selected Nokia as supplier of W-CDMA radio access network equipment. The contract follows a new frame agreement signed by Nokia and Sonofon’s parent company Telenor, covering all of Telenor’s Nordic affiliates.

According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms, at the end of 2005 Sonofon claimed 1.5 million customers, up from 1.46 million a year earlier. Revenues grew from DKK4.36 million (USD690,000) to 4.82 million (USD760,000), while EBITDA grew to DKK1.09 million from DKK710,000.
