FT’s ‘Livebox’ sales top two million mark

7 Apr 2006

France Télécom (FT) yesterday announced that sales of its ‘Livebox’ voice via DSL, digital TV and internet access service have topped the two million mark in its domestic market. FT said the Wi-Fi service, which was launched in 2004, has seen ‘very rapid acceleration’ since the latter stages of 2005. The company has sold a million subscriptions in the last six months and eventually hopes to sign up eight million ‘Livebox’ users. It is also attracting overseas interest in Britain where 150,000 people have signed up in less than a year.
