More mobiles than people

According to official figures published by Danish regulator Telestyrelsen, the country had more mobile phone subscriptions than inhabitants at the end of 2005. There were 5.47 million mobile phone subscribers at that date, translating to a penetration rate of 100.8%. The fixed line penetration rate stood at 61.7% at the same date and around 25% of inhabitants were broadband internet users.
