According to a report from Canadian research firm Maravedis, there will be 768,000 BWA/WiMAX subscribers in Brazil by 2010, of which approximately half a million will be WiMAX. An auction for new 3.5GHz licences is expected to start in July 2006, with the 2.5GHz band opening up for WiMAX in 2007.
