Spanish cable broadband provider ONO has posted a 48.2% hike in EBITDA for 2005, up to EUR274 million from EUR185 million in 2004. Revenues for the year increased to EUR774 million, up from EUR 502 million. However, the company’s net loss widened from EUR85 million to EUR466 million following the acquisition of Auna TLC, the fixed line and cable business of the Auna Group, for approximately EUR2.25 billion in November 2005. ONO ended 2005 with 826,000 residential broadband customers. It expects revenues of EUR1.7 billion to EUR1.8 billion in 2006 and EBITDA of EUR550 million to EUR580 million with capex forecast to be between EUR530 million and EUR565 million. Launched in 1998, ONO is a provider of telephony, dial-up and broadband internet, and cable television services to residential and business customers in Spain.
