Omantel launches WiLL

Omantel has rolled out a wireless in the local loop (WiLL) service to 25 villages in the governorate of Dhofar, and has revealed plans to extend this to a total of 200 villages. The rollout is part of the telco’s plan to provide telecoms services to all regions of the country and improve communications in rural areas. Omantel has contracted Chinese company Huawei to roll out the technology.
