Belarusian mobile network operator BelCel has competed the migration of customers to its new CDMA-450 network and closed down operations on the now defunct NMT-450 system. The cellco started moving its subscriber base over in October 2005 after the IT and Telecommunications Ministry took a decision to shut down the old network. At the start of this month BelCel’s CDMA infrastructure covered 44/7% of the territory – a figure it hopes to boost to 59% by the end of the year.
