ZTE reported to be working with LTC in breach of court order

21 Mar 2006

China’s ZTE Corporation is said to be working on the premises of Liberian operator Liberia Telecommunications Corporation (LTC), in breach of a Supreme Court stay-order barring it from doing so. According to AllAfrica quoting local sources, ZTE is one of several companies that participated in the LTC Bidding Process which was said to have been won by the Universal Telephone Exchange (UTE), a Liberian owned company based in Dallas, USA. However, a member of the provisional Board set up by President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to ascertain the condition and issues surrounding the floundering LTC bidding process reports that ZTE has entered LTC premises and continues to work there.
