Congress prepares new draft bill

21 Mar 2006

According to local analyst Enrique Carrier, of Carrier & Asociados, Argentina’s Congress is likely to approve a draft bill to bring the country’s telecoms law up to date. The new law is designed to encourage market liberalisation and investment in alternative telecoms networks, rather than just those of the incumbent operators. The government has also said it will allow telcos to launch TV and video services over their networks too.
