UPC Hungary revenues up 30%

Hungarian cableco UPC Hungary posted revenues of USD281.7 million in 2005, up 29.6% year-on-year, and reported a 31.4% rise in operating cash-flow to USD108.4 million. The company, which offers CATV, telephony and broadband internet access services, had 996,000 subscribers at the end of 2005, some of whom took more than one of its services. UPC reported 731,000 cable TV subscribers, 171,000 digital satellite customers, 135,000 broadband users and 108,000 voice telephony accounts at 31 December 2005. Of the telephony subscribers, 50,000 subscribed through UPC Hungary as part of their cable TV service and 58,000 used a land line service of its Monortel unit.
