TeliaSonera joins FreeMove alliance, TEM to opt out

Swedish-based telecoms group TeliaSonera has joined FreeMove, an international mobile marketing alliance involving Orange, Telecom Italia Group and T-Mobile. TeliaSonera has agreed to cooperate with the other cellcos on initiatives aimed at improving cross-border services to subscribers, enhancing international customer care, improving members’ competitive positioning, and creating joint procurement opportunities. However, Telefónica Móviles, a founding member of FreeMove, has announced its intention to leave the alliance and will not participate in the agreement with TeliaSonera.
