VoIP on the up

15 Mar 2006

According to a study by local consultancy Prince & Cooke, sales of IP telephony equipment in Argentina grew 60% in the year to the end of February 2006, with 31.1% of large corporations having implemented VoIP solutions, up from 19.4% a year earlier. Of the companies that have still to implement VoIP, 25% said they planned to deploy the technology by the end of 2006. The main reasons for switching to VoIP are to improve communications between employees in different offices and to offer mobile workers the possibility of using a fixed extension number anywhere.
