TeliaSonera must stop obstructing rivals

14 Mar 2006

TeliaSonera has been ordered by the Swedish National Post and Telecom Agency (PTS) to make it easier for rival operator Glocalnet to sell fixed line products to TeliaSonera’s existing customers. Glocalnet is Sweden’s third largest residential full-service provider, with its main focus on broadband services; by the end of September 2005 it had 92,000 ADSL subscribers, making it the country’s fourth largest broadband operator. Glocalnet is 50.1%-owned by Telenor, after the Norwegian telco paid EUR14.64 million to up its previous 36.6% stake in February 2006.
