Colombian wireless network operator Colombia Movil (Ola) is up for sale, after its owners, ETB and EPM, made an announcement to the local stock exchange to that effect. The co-owners claim to have buyers interested in the acquisition, but have thus far declined to name them. The most likely purchasers are believed to be Millicom and Telefonica, although the latter may struggle to gain regulatory approval for such as deal given its equity participation in a rival cellco. Others that could be involved include Nextel and Venezuelan telco CANTV.
