Alcatel to provide triple play solution to DT

13 Mar 2006

German incumbent Deutsche Telekom (DT) has revealed plans to invest up to EUR500 million to roll out high-level triple play services in ten major cities across the country. The telco has contracted French equipment supplier Alcatel to provide its IP portfolio, which will enable it to deliver the integrated services. DT said it will initially launch the service in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg and Stuttgart.

In a separate story, rival operator BT Germany has introduced BT wholesale VoIP, a service enabling German resellers, ISPs, cable network operators and city carriers to offer VoIP services using its network.
