MII may issue VoIP licences in June

According to China Business News, the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) may issue the country’s first VoIP licence in June. An unnamed source is quoted as saying that the regulator may grant the licence to a firm under the direct management of the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. Phase one of the development of the technological platform for VoIP is expected to be completed by 20 March and MII is expected to release VoIP regulations in May.
