Manitobans to get taste of 3G

10 Mar 2006

Canadian operator Manitoba Telecom Services (MTS) has announced plans to launch a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO service in Winnipeg and Brandon this spring. The 3G network will be the first of its kind in the Manitoba province. Nortel Networks provided the base stations and the base station controllers for the new network. Initially, a 1xEV-DO data card for laptops will be available, with mobile handsets to come thereafter.
