TDC accuses Vodafone of stirring up trouble

8 Mar 2006

According to Polish business daily Puls Biznesu, the disagreement between TDC and Vodafone over the Danish company’s plans to sell its 19.8% stake in Polkomtel is heating up. Vodafone wants to stop the Polish shareholders in the company from increasing their stake to over 70%, but TDC claims Vodafone’s actions are not in the shareholders’ interests and could lead to a long and costly court battle. Vodafone filed a suit on 16 February to have its rights against Polkomtel secured; the court decided on 24 February to freeze the sale for three months.
