PUC asks GT&T to suspend mobile sales

The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has written to Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) asking it to suspend sales of its cellular service because of ‘numerous complaints’ from existing customers about inadequate capacity, dropped calls and network downages. The regulator hopes that by curbing new accounts, the GT&T will be forced to improve its network.
