Germany's mobilcom group reports revenue rise

1 Mar 2006

mobilcom and freenet.de have revealed that sales in 2005 for the two companies stood at EUR2.05 billion (USD2.43 billion), up 8.1% from EUR1.89 billion in 2004. The rise was entirely down to strong performance from the fixed line and internet business – managed by freenet.de – where revenue increased from EUR468 million to EUR701 as customer numbers doubled in 2005 to reach 700,000 at the end of the year. freenet’s revenue hike was more than enough to off-set the 5% decline to EUR1.35 billion in sales at MVNO mobilcom, where lower price levels had a negative impact. EBITDA for the group was up 24% at EUR197.9 million.
