TDC launches residential VoIP

28 Feb 2006

Fixed line operator TDC has launched a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) service for residential customers, offering voice services at cheaper rates than traditional fixed line telephony. It is offering two VoIP packages for customers: TDC Broadband Telephony which costs DKK109 (USD17.32) a month and offers a flat rate for offpeak calls to Danish fixed line numbers made between 19.30 pm and 8.00 am, at the weekend and during public holidays; and TDC Broadband Telephony 24/7 which costs DKK129 (USD20.50) a month and offers a flat rate 24 hours a day to Danish fixed line numbers. TDC claims that the service will provide calls of the same quality as traditional fixed line services, and it is also offering text and picture messaging services.
