Maxcom lines grow 25% in 2005

Mexican fixed line operator Maxcom said its number of fixed lines in service increased by 25% to 206,292 in 2005. Residential customers accounted for the bulk of lines (154,233), whilst business lines stood at 36,680; Maxcom had 5,289 public telephones at the end of the year. During the fourth quarter of 2005, the monthly churn rate for voice lines was reduced to 1.4%, from 1.9% in 4Q04 and 1.7% in 3Q05. 4Q05 revenues increased 27% year-on-year to MXP309 million (USD29.5 million) and EBITDA grew 55% to reach MXP87.3 million.
