28 Feb 2006

Monterrey-based Mexican telco Marcatel has expanded its service to Mexico City, where it plans to focus on providing voice and data services to SMEs under the banner Conexion 21, according to BNamericas quoting local daily El Financiero. Conexion 21 offers unlimited VoIP local calls and high speed internet for a fixed monthly price. The launch follows an interconnection agreement struck between Marcatel and incumbent Telmex in June 2005. Marcatel says it plans to expand the service to Guadalajara, León and Querétaro later this year.
