2005 results put TDC on track for growth this year

TDC has today released its fourth quarter and full year 2005 financials, reporting a 10% rise in revenues to DKK46.58 billion (USD7.43 billion) for the full year. EBITDA rose by 8.4% from DKK11.9 billion to DKK13 billion (USD2 billion) during the twelve month period, while net sales reached DKK46.6 billion (USD7.4 billion), up 10% on the figure for 2004. The operator, which has attributed the positive results to higher traffic revenue in its domestic mobile operations and higher revenue at its German and Lithuanian cellular units, has forecast similar growth for 2006. It expects full-year EBITDA to reach DKK13.4 billion (USD2.1 billion), with projected revenues of DKK38 billion and net income of DKK4.5 billion.

TDC’s total mobile, fixed and internet customer base totalled 15.4 million at the end of 2005, up 14.5% in the year, with domestic customers accounting for 7.6 million of the total. Its domestic mobile customer base grew by 7.3% to 2.6 million, while broadband customers grew to 872,000, up 28.8%, 692,000 of which were ADSL subscribers, 248,000 cable-modem users and 1.03 million cable-TV customers. Domestic fixed line users fell from 2.8 million to 2.74 million during the year, of which 2.27 million were retail and 478,000 wholesale. International fixed line customers grew from 603,000 to 773,000, of which TDC Switzerland accounted for 527,000 and TDC Song 4,000, with international mobile operations also rising from 4.71 million to 6.44 million at the end of the year. Of this figure, TDC Switzerland accounted for 1.27 million (up 6.4%), Talkline in Germany 3.43 million (32%), Bite in Lithuania 1.72 million (86%) and TDC Song 15,000 (25%).
