21 Feb 2006

The Lebanese government has accused its Syrian counterpart of illegally selling Syrian pre-paid SIM cards inside the country, effectively starving it of much needed revenues. Telecommunications Minister Marwan Hamade told The Daily Star that he believes Syria is redirecting mobile relay stations situated along its border towards the country, in order to allow people to use Syrian pre-pay mobile phone cards inside Lebanon.
