20 Feb 2006

UK-based BT Group says it will spend USD21 million on launching a global platform for VoIP services. Around half of the investment will go into developing the service in the Asia Pacific region, according to the president of BT Asia Pacific, Allen Ma. The platform will utilise the USD48 million IP network BT began rolling out in the region in 2005. Upon its expected completion later this year the network will cover 17 countries including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.
