Omantel reports drop in net profit

According to a report in Trade Arabia, Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has reported a net profit of OMR68.6 million (USD187.1 million) for 2005, down 5.8% on the OMR72.8 million recorded in 2004. The company said it plans to invest in its network during 2006 to achieve a higher quality of service and increase its customer base. Earlier this week it completed the rollout of a nationwide fibre optic network.
