Indonesian telco PT Hutchison CP Telecommunications (Hutchison Telecom Indonesia), a joint venture between Hong Kong’s Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited and the CP Group of Indonesia, has selected Nokia of Finland to provide it with a convergent charging solution that will enable it to better integrate and manage its network. The Nokia solution will cover all primary call control functions and will integrate Hutch’s business systems for pre-pay and contract customers. The system is slated to come on line in the second half of 2006. Commenting on the award, Dennis Lui, chief executive of Hutchison Telecom Indonesia said the new solution would support his company’s differentiation strategy in the dynamic Indonesian telecoms market. The operator plans to begin the phased introduction of nationwide GSM services with 3G services overlaid in key cities in the second half of 2006.
