Polish fixed line incumbent TP SA reported a 2.3% fall in net profit in the fourth quarter of 2005 to PLN512 million (USD160.4 million), compared to the same period of 2004. Sales for the three months ended 31 December 2005 were PLN4.69 billion, up 1.2%, although for the year revenues were down to PLN18.34 billion from PLN18.53 billion in 2004. Fourth quarter fixed line revenues fell 12% to PLN2.35 billion, while wireless sales jumped 19% to PLN1.56 billion. Centertel reported 9.92 million subscribers at the end of 2005, up 33% in twelve months giving it an estimated market share of 33.9%. Broadband revenues surged 48% in the year to PLN277 million, on the back of burgeoning DSL subscribers which topped the company’s own estimates ending the year at 1.17 million.
