Chinese equipment provider ZTE has begun deploying the first of 500,000 telephone lines based on CDMA technology as part of a USD39 million contract with Haiti’s Haitel signed last July. The first phase of the rollout is expected to be completed in June, while the second stage will be finished before the end of the year, according to ZTE. The vendor is contracted to work in conjunction with Haitel to maintain the network once it is completed.
