Iliad adds 149,000 ADSL subscribers, revenues up 41%

French dial-up and broadband services provider Iliad Group, which offers services through the ISP Free, reported a 47% rise in turnover in 2005 to EUR724 million on the back of strong subscriber gains. Free added 149,000 ADSL users in Q4 to boost the company’s total subscriber base to 1.595 million by the end of the year. According to reports in Telecompaper, Iliad’s fourth quarter revenues rose 41% to EUR202.9 million driven by a 64% rise in internet sales to EUR170.6 million, while sales of telephony services dipped 18% to EUR30.1 million, as fixed line operator OneTel – acquired by Iliad in 2001 – lost customers to VoIP.
