Lithuanian fixed line operator Lietuvos Telekomas has announced a pre-tax profit of LTL109 million (USD37.8 million) for the full year 2005, up from LTL41 million in 2004. Profit for the period increased by almost 150% to LTL84 million, while sales increased by 1.2% to LTL730 million. A 14.1% growth in revenues from internet and data communications, combined with 16.1% growth from other services fully offset a 3.1% decline in revenues from fixed line services. The total operating expenses for the year amounted to LTL387 million, a decrease of 1.6% on the 2004 figure. EBITDA increased by 5.2% to LTL353 million.
Meanwhile, the total number of ADSL customers doubled during the year to 105,000, while the main lines in service declined by 20,500 to stand at 799,000 at the end of the year.
