Belgian telco Mobistar has reported an 11.2% growth in net profit for 2005 on the back of strong gains in contract mobile customers. Mobistar posted full-year net profit of EUR270.2 million, up from EUR243 million in 2004, as service revenues climbed 10% to EUR1.404 billion. Mobistar ended 2005 with 2.91 million mobile subscribers, up 2.4%, with contract customers accounting for almost 44% of its base, up from 35% in 2004, including strong gains in the SoHo and SME segments. In turn, blended mobile ARPU grew 3.8% to EUR38.02 a month. Mobistar is also present in the fixed line market and added DSL broadband to its portfolio of services in October 2005, ending the year with around 3,000 subscribers.
