Virgin Islands-based cellco Bloomfin has received a GSM licence to offer mobile services in Georgia. The operator bid GEL71.9 million (USD39.5 million) for the licence, beating an offer from domestic company Telecom Invest Georgia. The starting price of the concesion was GEL4.2 million. The Georgian mobile market is currently home to two GSM operators, Geocell and Magticom, and one CDMA operator Iberiatel.
